Redux is a nonprofit organization committed to fostering creativity and the cultivation of contemporary art through diverse exhibitions, affordable studio space for visual artists, meaningful education and outreach programs, and a multidisciplinary approach to the dialogue between artists and their audiences.

The Internship

I spent a very busy semester helping design content for Social Media pages and photographing events to create content for the website. I assisted with exhibition changes ingoing/outgoing as well as programming. And of course manned the front desk, greeted and informed gallery visitors about current exhibitions.

Markus Bischof

Markus is an award-winning trained carpenter with a degree in Product Design. He opened his Design Office in Nuremberg, Germany in 2010.

Since then, he has come up with over 300 concepts, designs and products for a great variety of industries that have received numerous international design awards and prizes.

Our Collaboration

I spent a little over a year working under Markus's direction in conceptual design. Markus prompted me to examine design through problem solving and thematic observation. Examples of my work can be found under the "Work" icon in the "Conceptual Design" gallery

Michael Sastre

Michael Sastre is a landscape painter and mosaic artist who has broadly exhibited across the United States including 23 solo exhibitions. His works are included in both private and public collections. He is the recipient of a State Arts Council Fellowship and a National Endowment for the Arts award. He currently divides his time between Derwood, MD and Miami, FL.

Our Collaboration

I spent a summer working under Michael's supervision creating concepts for mosaics. With his direction and critical advice I created a design for a Caribbean themed mosaic that is now hanging in a restaurant in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
